Open Text Web Experience Management (formerly Vignette Content Management) is a powerful solution for creating and managing content for enterprise Internet, extranet, or intranet applications. It is designed to engage the capabilities of key Web content contributors and administrators, no matter their skill level, while providing enriched management tools to site developers and designers.
Web Experience Management is designed for organizations that place strategic emphasis on their online channel. Originally developed by Vignette and now a part of the Open Text ECM Suite, this product was the first of its kind in the early days of the Internet. Today it powers some of the largest and most complex Web sites in the world.
In support of the specialized roles and business-critical requirements typical of today's enterprise Web sites, Web Experience Management meets the distinct needs of content contributors, designers, Web developers and administrators. With the rich and deep functionality that such an enterprise application demands, its significant usability features simplify and streamline the content contribution process and enable organizations to deliver richer, more interactive end-user experiences.
It creates a consistent cross-channel experience. Web Experience Management makes it easy to control branding and deliver a consistent message through public-facing Web sites, extranets or intranets. It allows content to be stored once and published to mobile devices, kiosks, TV set-top boxes, and much more.
It's designed for the future. Web Experience Management enables organizations to scale to a large number of sites, volume of content and number of content contributors. As the number of sites and the quantity of content grows, the number of content contributors can scale with it. And the product's robust Content Type Modeler lets organizations work with custom, complex content types. It can handle content types that haven't even been thought of yet.
It's built on standards-based technology. Web Experience Management can lower total cost of ownership of your enterprise Web applications by leveraging open standards, such as XML, J2EE and Web services. This support for standards makes it easy to keep up with technology advances, which explains the product's strong support for Web 2.0 technologies like AJAX. Enterprises can quickly deploy and easily manage highly scalable and reliable Web sites, applications and portals.
