With Open Text Portal Integration Kit, your organization can aggregate all corporate information—both data and documents—from multiple applications into a single point of consumption using the portal application of your choice.

Open Text Portal Integration Kit is a set of out-of-the-box portlets to integrate Content Server into leading Java-based portal frameworks. Portal Integration Kit supports the Java portlet API standards (JSR-168) and SAP NetWeaver Portal iViews.

Features

Learn more about the key capabilities of Open Text Portal Integration Kit:

  • Portlets: Covers the standard functionality of Content Server. All portlets are based on a common architecture so they can share information with one another. The access rights of the logged-in user are always taken into account.

  • Repository Access: The central part of the integration is a set of portlets that let users browse Content Server and view, download, update and add documents. Includes portlets for: Server, Connections & Credentials Management; Tree Navigation; List Container Content; My Favorites; My Reserved Items; My Assignments - Workflow; and Object Details with various views.

  • Collaboration: Team collaboration tools are an essential piece of the Open Text Extended Collaboration add-on for Open Text Document Management and Open Text Content Lifecycle Management. Included are portlets for Projects, My Projects, Discussion Overview, Discussion Entry and Task Inbox.

  • Reports: Executes predefined and custom LiveReports and displays the results in a list. Commonly used reports such as: Most Active Project; Today's News; What's Hot; All Reserved Items.

  • Search: Enter search queries against Content Server or create predefined searches. Options to select search broker, provide starting point for searches, restrict object types to be returned, and limit maximum number of search results to be returned. Search results can be linked with other portlets like "Object Details," "Tree Navigation," and "List Container Contents."

  • User Information: Shows user information as available in Content Server—in addition to contact details, the information could include an image. The user can be specified either on portlet configuration or passed from another portlet (for example, Discussion Entry or Object Detail).

  • XML-to-HTML Transformer: Transforms XML files stored within Content Server into HTML.

  • Development Kit: Java APIs are documented in the standard JavaDoc format. Covers the development and deployment of custom Content Server integrated portlets.
