In this year’s report, we share OpenText’s progress, initiatives, and commitments to making a positive impact on our environment, empowering diverse voices, and upholding the highest standards of integrity. Through our Zero-In Initiative, our guiding framework for all our Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) efforts, we strive to create a future where our actions leave zero footprint, where barriers are broken down, and where compromise is non-existent when it comes to our core values. We are on a transformative journey towards a more sustainable, equitable, and prosperous world. We are also excited about the positive impacts that AI can have against our important priorities.

Zero compromise

Values and ethics

Our business is built on a foundation of trust

To maintain our position as a market leader, it is crucial that we earn and establish the trust of our customers, employees, investors, suppliers, and the communities in which we operate. We achieve this by acting with integrity and meeting compliance standards.

Gaining trust starts with conducting our business to the highest standards of ethics and integrity. There will be zero compromise when it comes to doing what is right. Our Code of Business Conduct and Ethics outlines the expectations with which we expect all employees, officers, directors, vendors, contractors and partners to comply.

Zero barriers

Inspired people, inspiring outcomes

OpenText is staying focused on what matters most: its people. Equal access equals opportunity. By empowering an inclusive and equitable environment, we are committing to zero barriers to our employees’ success and creating a culture that supports and advances Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (ED&I).

The OpenText Zero-In Initiative is a commitment to elevate lives by breaking down barriers. We will achieve zero barriers through new strategies for equitable recruitment, hiring and retention, unbiased recognition, professional development, and mentorship programs. Additionally, we provide inclusive benefits, work/life balance programs, and participation in civic events that promote diversity, volunteering, and corporate giving.

By 2030, we are committed to achieving the following ED&I targets:

  • A majority ethnically diverse workforce,
  • 50/50 gender parity within key roles, and
  • 40 percent women in leadership positions at all management levels.

People are at the heart of OpenText, and we can only succeed as an organization by helping them succeed. We remain focused on developing an inclusive workplace where everyone feels safe and free to be their truest and most authentic selves. Collectively building awareness, empathy, and positive change, our ten Employee Networks provide members with opportunities for involvement, personal development, and support. We also continue to offer a wide variety of group benefits, including medical, life and disability benefits in more than 37 countries.

We provide employees with:

  • Education reimbursement

In alignment with our Supplier Code of Conduct, we expect all of our suppliers to behave responsibly, ethically and sustainably. Active monitoring of our suppliers helps us ensure they are compliant with relevant legislation and key elements of our Supplier Code of Conduct. We hold our suppliers to the same high standards to which we hold ourselves.

Our commitment to Equity, Diversity & Inclusion extends to our supply chain. We welcome and encourage diverse suppliers, including minorities, women, LGBTQ+, persons with disabilities, and veteran-owned businesses as suppliers and subcontractors.

Information security and data privacy

Data is at the core of everything we do and protecting it is crucial. Our employees and customers count on us, as an employer and service provider, to anticipate and actively manage all information security and data privacy risks. Our success, and the success of every stakeholder, depends on this.

OpenText maintains industry best practices for incorporating data protection and privacy into our daily activities, as defined by our ISO 27001:2013 Global Information Security Management System.

Partnerships and commitments

Building a better world requires collaboration across companies, sectors, borders and academia. OpenText has joined various industry initiatives to help accelerate progress and impact.
